Automation Engineer
THE OPPORTUNITY

We are recruiting for an Automation Engineer with a Special Purpose Machinery background, ideally experienced within the FMCG/Packaging industries. This is an excellent opportunity to join an expanding team who are responsible for producing PLC and HMI code for equipment and production lines.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for the design and development of new control systems.
  • Upgrading of existing equipment and integration with new automation/controls.
  • Development of Functional, Detailed and Software Design Specifications from User Requirement Specifications.
  • PLC / HMI Programming – Siemens and Rockwell.
  • System design and creation of required robot, PLC and HMI programming using IEC 61131-3 languages.
  • Conducting site surveys and technical meetings participation.
  • Start up, commissioning and fault finding on customers sites.
  • Support innovation and new product line integration.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Education in a relevant engineering discipline to HNC / HND qualification.
  • 5+ years experience in Controls & Automation, ideally within the FMCG / Packaging industries.
  • Software design experience on Rockwell or Siemens PLCs and HMIs.
  • Knowledge and experience of using industrial comms protocols (EthernetIP or Profinet).
  • Motion and servo control systems experience.
